  • Three new restaurants—Culver's, Dog Haus and Magnolia Social House—will open in Fort Smith in 2026. Culver's will be built at 8450 Rogers Avenue, Magnolia Social House is set for March in the former Taliano's building, and Bricktown will rebuild on the historic Adelaide Hall lot.  Southwest Times Record
  • ArcBest CEO Judy McReynolds will retire on Dec. 31 after a 28-year career with the Fort Smith-based trucking company, and she will continue as chairman; Company President Seth Runser will assume CEO duties on Jan. 1 (as planned).  5 News

  • UAFS men's basketball beat Drury 94-86 on Sunday in their final game before the holiday break as Jarren McAllister and Kameron Johnson recorded double-doubles to keep the team unbeaten at 11-0.   • Arkansas sports gave fans a memorable 2025 as the men's basketball team reached the Sweet 16 and the OmaHogs advanced to the College World Series semi-finals — with coaching changes in women's basketball and football and national honors for Bri Ellis and Maria Jose Marin.  5 News
