🎓 Education
Arkansas high school seniors on the National Merit Scholarship semifinalist list must now submit complete applications (including academic records, essays, and teacher endorsements) to advance as finalists.
The list covers students from public, private, and homeschool classrooms.
Nine high school seniors from Southside, Greenwood and Poteau high schools were named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program on Sept.
9. They now qualify to compete for $24 million in scholarships, with finalists to be notified in February.

The Cedarville Pirates supported by 18 seniors returned the Treasure Chest Trophy to their school, marking a win that caps a season of dedicated play.
