- ➤ Fort Smith school district administrators recommend closing Carnall and Spradling elementary schools due to low attendance and high upgrade costs; if approved at the Jan. 26 meeting, 275 Spradling students will shift to Sutton and 152 Carnall students will move to either Beard or Cavanaugh (about 2.5 miles away). 4029 News
