Good morning, Fort Smith.

Melissa Carper released her holiday album A Very Carper Christmas via Soundly Music, featuring original festive tunes that mix nostalgia and humor — inspired by a friend’s challenge.

The album adds to the vibrant local arts scene with a fresh seasonal sound.

Greenwood's Kane Archer won his second Gatorade Player of the Year award, setting records with 100+ touchdown passes and 50+ rushing touchdowns.

He signed with the University of Utah and continues his community work as a youth coach and volunteer.

After planning to retire, Coach Jake Hindman returned to lead Mansfield girls basketball; he said the Lord — opening a new door — made it hard to refuse his calling.

Another strong field will compete in the upcoming Foster’s Roofing Holiday Classic — starting Thursday at Fort Smith Southside.

Reigning champion Forrest City and standout Jamarion Morris, who scored 20 points in last year's championship, are among the competitors.
