- ➤ Chaffee Crossing will host its 13th annual Veterans Day Parade that will honor local veterans and showcase 250 years of military service. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with a parade starting at noon—giving residents a chance to learn about different eras of military history. River Valley Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Local blues musician Buddy Shute and his band, The Procrastinators, won the Fort Smith Riverfront Blues Challenge and will represent the Riverfront Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in January in Memphis — they are also set to headline the Fort Smith Blues Jam on November 16 at the Bakery District. - ➤ The University of Arkansas Fort Smith will host a weeklong series of community events from November 6-9 that includes a performance of John Cariani's play Almost Maine, a children's book release, an art contest, a craft market, and a comic convention.
