  • Later this month, the Murder and Mayhem haunted tour will take visitors through Fort Smith's historic sites—like the Museum of History, Bonneville House and Clayton House—to offer a spooky mix of ghost hunts and local history.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

FINANCE NEWS

  • Patrons of Parrot Island Waterpark can now mail refund claims for ticket purchases made from April 2021 to November 2023 when a sales tax was incorrectly charged—submissions will be reviewed for proper reimbursement.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Greenwood city officials will consider calling a special sales tax election today to extend the current levy that funds the Fire Department, Parks and Recreation, and traffic congestion relief efforts (Bob Purvis stated this at the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce).  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • Veterans in the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas can get walk-in flu vaccine services from the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks this flu season using either the high dose Fluad for those 65 and older or the standard Afluria for veterans aged 18 through 64. Clinics offering vaccines include Fayetteville VA Medical Center and Fort Smith Community-Based Outpatient Clinic with set weekday hours for service.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

  • Madison Thurston ran at the Chile Pepper Festival Saturday — she helped the UAFS cross country team gain a strong result in Fayetteville. The event boosted her season as the team prepared for upcoming races.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
