CULTURE NEWS

  • The Peacemaker Music Festival will be held Oct. 10-11 at the Riverfront Amphitheater in Fort Smith — the event will feature country and Americana performances. Featured acts include Sam Barber, Stephen Wilson Jr., Southall, William Clark Green, Silverada, Them Dirty Roses, Vandoliers, Danno Simpson, Joe Stamm Band and Covington Creek.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Saturday afternoon, Notre Dame defeated Arkansas 56 to 13 in the first ever meeting between the teams, recording 641 total yards and scoring six touchdowns in the first half—Arkansas managed only a 39 yard field goal and one offensive lineman touchdown as their momentum faded.  5 News
  • Cooper Edwards from Mansfield and Eli Sampley from Ozark are featured in a player profile—Edwards is a senior playing cornerback, quarterback, and baseball who enjoys hunting and time with his girlfriend, while Sampley is a senior guard recognized by Coach Bullard for his on-field efforts.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
