- ➤ The Fort Smith community held a candlelight vigil Monday night to honor political activist Charlie Kirk as hundreds gathered with candles, prayers, and memories at the event hosted by the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith chapter of Turning Point USA — leaders called for peace and an end to political violence during the gathering. 4029 News

- ➤ Fort Smith Northside High School was evacuated Monday morning after a bomb threat—officials have not released further details and 2,433 students attend the school. 4029 News

- ➤ The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith is celebrating Constitution Week with events that started Monday and will continue through Friday—today the campus hosts a voter registration drive and lectures while a Constitution display is available at the library. - ➤ Visiting instructor Lee Stovall uses empathy to help UAFS business students connect with lessons from his time as a Treasury special agent and IRS revenue agent—teaching them accounting and financial investigations. - ➤ Today, the Fort Smith Board of Directors will vote on changes to the OVG management agreement to boost the convention center’s income and on more than $3.8M in projects for sewer repairs, park fixes, and transit improvements including a new CNG bus and fueling station upgrade with heavy federal reimbursement — the board will also approve payments and easements needed for federally mandated sewer work — to support city services.
