  • A 60-year-old man from Van Buren was convicted by a Crawford County jury for firing his gun multiple times into his ex-girlfriend's home—he rejected an eight-year plea deal—and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

  • Fort Smith presents a busy music calendar featuring Marshall Mitchell at Beard and Lady Inn and Niko Moon at Choctaw Casino on Sept. 13, plus a Fort Smith Symphony Dance Party at ArcBest Performing Arts Center today at 7 p.m.—other events include Terri Clark on Sept. 20, David Nail on Sept. 19, Mexican Standoff at Levitt AMP on Sept. 25, and the Peacemaker Music Festival on Oct. 10 to 11.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
