- ➤ Fort Smith police arrested a 32-year-old man on August 6 after an armed robbery took place less than 30 minutes earlier—he is accused in connection with the crime. River Valley Democrat-Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fort Smith has kept mandatory Phase I water conservation measures in effect after a water main break lowered reservoir levels—residents with even addresses water on even days and those with odd addresses water on odd days. The restrictions will last until the tanks reach full capacity. City of Fort Smith
- ➤ Fort Smith has opened public comment on the environmental impacts of the F-35 pilot training center expansion at Ebbing Air National Guard Base. The comment period runs from August 8 to September 24 and the city will hold a virtual hearing on September 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and an in-person hearing on September 9 at the Convention Center—residents can share their feedback during these sessions. 4029 News
