  • Fort Smith police said 19-year-old Kamarion Higgins, wanted for a July 4 armed robbery on North Greenwood Avenue at 11:54 p.m., was arrested Tuesday in Jonesboro after officers received a tip he was staying with family.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
  • Fort Smith Police activated a Silver Alert for Sky Nguyen, who went missing at 1 p.m. June 9 and was last seen at 5100 Clarendon wearing blue jeans and a brown long-sleeved shirt—he is Asian, 120 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes and may be in a gray Toyota Camry with license plate 727VID.  4029 News
  • Fort Smith police said a teen reported missing near Valley Behavioral Health is safe — they are reviewing the details.  5 News

  • River Valley offers a range of summer events from live theater, outdoor movies, kid camps and music jams at local venues including Fort Smith Little Theatre and King Opera House. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The NAACP Sebastian County Branch has awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to seven local high school graduates—Leslie Barroso, Kari Carter, Ja'Caryous 'JC' Douglas, Scott Holland, Courtney Jones, Makayla Robinson and Onesty Thomas, each receiving a $1,500 award. The awards will be presented at 2 p.m. on July 28 at the U.S. Marshals Museum—an event followed by a reception.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
  • The Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club has paused its new teen center opening scheduled for Aug. 13 due to a $12.2M federal funding freeze that supports after school programs for more than 9,400 children across 71 communities — Rep. Steve Womack is urging officials to release the funds to prevent further job and program losses.  Southwest Times Record
