A special block party will take place on Tuesday, June 24th on the sidewalk between 616 and 702 Garrison Avenue to celebrate a new mural painted there—attendees can enjoy free snacks, a DJ, and a chance to meet the artist while about 150 people are expected and no street closures are planned.

The Fort Smith Museum of History is debuting its Belle Starr: Her Story exhibition today and hosting a book signing event with author Michael Wallis—whose new research on the real Belle Starr gives museum members a discount on his book.

The Greater Fort Smith Association of Home Builders will host the Kids Construction Camp today at the Peak Innovation Center, 5900 Painter Lane from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in partnership with Fort Kids Museum to teach incoming fourth through sixth grade students hands-on building skills; campers will build derby racetracks—designed by Cobblestone Homes and Justin Green Custom Homes—for a friendly race with one winning student from each grade taking home a track and one track on display at the Fort Kids Museum area in the Bakery District.

On Sunday, Texarkana broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run second inning to win 13-5 over the Fort Smith Marshals at Texarkana.

In another contest on Saturday, the Marshals rallied with a six-run seventh inning—having built a 6-4 lead—to secure a 12-8 win against Texarkana.
