  • Fort Smith Police said 12-year-old Taylor Blades went missing on May 31 after leaving a friend's home in Van Buren on May 30—she is 5'2 and weighs about 110 pounds, and officers ask anyone with information to call 911.  City of Fort Smith

  • The Ozark Bronze Community Handbell Ensemble will hold its spring concert series—Destinations—at 4 p.m. June 8 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Fort Smith with free admission. The ensemble will perform arrangements including the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, Arab Dance, and Celtic Farewell and will also perform today at Rolling Hills Baptist Church and at 4 p.m. June 7 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

  • On May 27, the Prairie Grove School Board unanimously placed Superintendent Dr. Lance Campbell on administrative leave—district officials did not share the reason or expected duration of the leave.  5 News

  • On Thursday, the Arkansas Activities Association released its list of All-State selections for spring sports including baseball, softball, soccer and track—Hackett led the list.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
  • Jaxon Spangler, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder for the Fort Smith Marshals, has shined early in the season with 18 strikeouts in 12 innings and 2 hits in 3 at-bats—helping the team bounce back after a game was canceled by bad weather. Manager Buddy Mercado said the versatile player works hard as he fills both roles to boost his team's performance.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
  • Matt Jones and Ethan Westerman recapped Arkansas' 6-2 win over North Dakota State and Creighton's 11-4 win over Kansas on Day 1 of the Fayetteville Regional— and they will preview Saturday night's pivotal game between the Razorbacks and the Bluejays— in their podcast.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
