- ➤ Anthony Mendez, a Northside High School student in Fort Smith, received the OG&E 2026 Positive Energy Scholarship Tuesday. He will earn $15,000 per year to help pay for his mechanical engineering studies at the University of Arkansas, joining two other first-generation college awardees. River Valley Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Mercy Hospital Waldron, a 24-bed (critical access) hospital in Scott County, was named one of the nation’s Top 20 for quality care by the National Rural Health Association on May 12.
