- ➤ A Fort Smith nonprofit will begin a $4,000,000 project next month at the corner of South 6th and I streets downtown to create 30 tiny homes + a supportive services building. The project, scheduled to take 18 months, will also provide classes and services to help residents rebuild their lives. 5 News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ In arts news, Arkansas Living Treasure Longhua Xu’s exhibit “Soul Taking Shape” continues through June 21 at the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum (1601 Rogers Ave.), and several events including a dance production, a historical play, and art classes are scheduled this week. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Thirteen local students from Fort Smith high schools were selected to attend Arkansas Boys State, a weeklong leadership program running May 24-29 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway (the program teaches students to build a mock government). River Valley Democrat-Gazette

- ➤ Sebastian County crews worked early Sunday morning to clear a large tree downed by overnight storms on Vineyard Creek Road near Highway 71 just south of Greenwood—officials say the area is now clear of debris. 4029 News
