- ➤ The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Wednesday that two people were arrested in the Western District as part of Operation Restore Justice—a nationwide crackdown that rescued 115 children and led to the arrest of 205 child sexual abuse offenders; officials have not released the suspects' identities as the investigation continues. - ➤ The fifth annual Fort Smith International Film Festival and MidAmerica Film Market has received a record-breaking 597 film submissions from over 70 countries, nations and tribes as announced Tuesday by organizers. - ➤ Governor Sarah Sanders on May 3 submitted a new request for federal disaster aid to cover storms that hit Arkansas from April 2 to 22—causing flooding, power outages in about 25,000 households, and three deaths.
