  • Colin MacKnight, music director at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, has been giving weekly recitals of Bach’s complete organ works since January and recently performed the challenging ‘Wedge’ Prelude and Fugue; he will continue these recitals until May 28 — with a major concert on July 28 to feature the German Organ Mass and support a $50,000 fundraising campaign for a summer residency at Canterbury Cathedral.  Arkansas Times

  • The Institute for the Creative Arts is hosting its end-of-school-year Student Art Show and Reception today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bookish in the Bakery District in downtown Fort Smith—where students display art in various styles—and visitors can meet the artists.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Thursday night, local leaders met in the Bakery District to discuss Fort Smith’s new F-35 fighter jet training program, where top Polish pilots have already completed training—this initiative is expected to bring $500 million to $1 billion in annual economic benefits. Officials said pilot training for Germany and Singapore will begin in 2026.  5 News
