CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A convicted felon accused of first-degree murder in Fort Smith is being charged as a habitual offender—this action may bring enhanced penalties. River Valley Democrat-Gazette
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Sebastian County Opioid Summit will be held on April 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ACHE Research Institute Health & Wellness Center in Fort Smith to address the impact of opioids on youth. The free event will feature experts and community leaders, including State Rep. Jay Richardson, who will discuss prevention and intervention strategies to educate the community. - ➤ A free medical clinic will take place at the Fort Smith Convention Center on April 5 to 6 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. thanks to a $20,000 donation from the Degen Foundation, as ARCOM students and about 150 to 200 volunteers will serve 200 to 300 patients in need of dental, vision, and medical care.
