- ➤ Lawmakers approved a contract worth up to $12 million on Friday to administer the Classic Learning Test in high schools as an alternative to the ACT and SAT. - ➤ Members of the Greater Fort Smith Home Builders Association and local officials broke ground Friday on a showcase home in Greenwood’s East Village subdivision (designed to highlight local craftsmanship) (a project that will promote regional building expertise). River Valley Democrat-Gazette
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Van Buren's athletes earned all-state honors this week after selections by the Arkansas Activities Association. The school became the only large school in River Valley — with both Class 6A and 5A placements — recognized for boys' and girls' teams. River Valley Democrat-Gazette
- ➤ The County Line Indians and Lady Indians won 60 games this season and earned post-season honors, as Parker Winiecki and Joshlynn Brown were named all-state (Class 1A) and to the All-Tournament team. River Valley Democrat-Gazette
