ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Towson Avenue reopened after a downed power line near 4900 (about two blocks south of Phoenix Avenue) was fixed by 8:25 a.m. Wednesday following overnight storms that knocked down trees and other power lines.  4029 News

  • The Arkansas Times Film Series will screen the 1997 romantic film Love Jones on Tuesday, Mar. 17 at Riverdale 10 VIP Cinema at 7 p.m. (Tickets cost $12–$14).  Arkansas Times
  • Miss Laura’s Brothel Museum in downtown Fort Smith is hosting poetry readings, trivia nights and yoga sessions during Women's History Month to showcase the stories of women who worked in its 1898 Victorian brothel, aiming to educate visitors about the past challenges women faced — events continue year-round.  5 News

  • The Fort Smith Board of Education terminated band director James Palmer at Chaffin Middle School and South Side High School last night — the district provided no reason and stressed that student safety is paramount.  4029 News

  • Fort Smith Police responded to help with traffic along South 68th Street to Cliff Drive as OG&E conducted repairs on Mar. 11, and drivers were advised to take alternate routes.  City of Fort Smith
