HEALTH NEWS

  • Baptist Health-Fort Smith earned a Pearl award for stroke care when the Arkansas Department of Health recognized its 85 to 89 percent adherence to Stroke Band Documentation from July 2024 to June 2025 — a performance measure that highlights its quality for local stroke patients.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Today, Fort Smith Southside Mavericks edged Bentonville West in the 6A-West baseball season opener, scoring a run in the first inning as Walker Allen (the standout player) boosted their momentum.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
  • Subiaco Academy’s Justiz Butler and Lee Miller earned Player of the Week honors while County Line’s Robberson was also recognized. The Trojans (ranked No. 1 in Class 3A and featuring seven seniors) will face Providence Academy on Saturday in the Region 1 finals.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
