  • Main Street Fort Smith awarded $16,000 in grants to eight local businesses to improve downtown safety, preservation and appearance. The projects, announced Friday at The Cooler Room at The Bakery District, will leverage over $101,000 in private funding to revitalize downtown.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

BUSINESS NEWS

  • QP Holdings LLC (a Fort Smith plastic engineering firm) will be required to repay $3.3 million in PPP loans after a federal review showed misused funds. The U.S. District Attorney's Office released the findings that led to this repayment order.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • Fort Smith Little Theatre starts its 2026 season with a re-imagined version of Agatha Christie’s mystery play And Then There Were None, running Feb. 19-28. The play offers a fresh take on the classic story and promises engaging entertainment for local audiences.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Data from Realtor.com shows that median home prices in Sebastian County rose to $195,000 in November from October’s $188,500, marking a 3.4% increase while recorded sales dropped 18.4% from November 2024.  Southwest Times Record
