HEALTH NEWS

  • The University of Arkansas–Fort Smith will use $15 million federal funding received on Feb. 6 to build a Center for Mother and Infant Healthcare that will feature simulation labs for training healthcare workers and programs for expectant families on campus (promising improved outcomes in the River Valley).  Southwest Times Record

  • The Razorbacks are working to fix their defense after a loss to Kentucky. Coach John Calipari said improvements in ball-screen defense and personnel will be a priority as they face elite scorer Josh Hubbard and Mississippi State today at 11 a.m. in Starkville.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
  • Rogers Heritage's boys started strong in the fourth quarter and put together an 8-0 run to win 63-51 over Fort Smith Southside at War Eagle Arena on Friday night.  River Valley Democrat-Gazette
