- ➤ Van Buren officials cleared a key hurdle on Wednesday by approving $18 million plans for the River Valley Slack Water Project. The harbor upgrade will triple barge capacity and require Five Rivers to post a $600K bond for levee repairs, with federal design approval expected in spring or summer. River Valley Democrat-Gazette
