ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Snow from a winter storm dropped 12 inches in Witts Springs on Jan. 25 and nearly a foot in parts of Northwest Arkansas, while the River Valley received 8 inches. Schools closed Monday through Thursday and ADOT expects roads to be clear by Friday or Saturday. 4029 News

- ➤ Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith reported a rise in winter storm illnesses on Jan. 23, with emergency room staff treating cases of hypothermia, carbon monoxide poisoning & cardiac events, including slips and falls. Staff plan to monitor an expected increase in viral respiratory illnesses over the next week. 5 News
