- ➤ First-year enrollment at UAFS reached its highest level since before the pandemic with more than 1,030 students registered for fall, a 15% increase from last year. Transfer enrollment increased 49% to 365 & campus housing hit a record high with over 880 residents as officials credit new recruitment efforts and scholarship programs for the gains. - ➤ Cub Camp wrapped up Saturday after three days of events that welcomed new UAFS students, with move-ins starting Aug. 13 and activities including dancing, games, a color war and a candlelight ceremony at the Bell Tower. - ➤ Devil's Den State Park reopened eight trails after nearly a month of closure — a state parks spokesperson said that CCC Interpretive Trail, Fossil Flats, Gorley KingLake Trail, Lee Creek Trail, Old Road Trail, Vista Point Trail, Woody Plant Trail and Yellow Rock Trail are now open while Devil’s Den Trail remains closed until further notice and Butterfield Trail is closed due to tornado storm damage. 4029 News

- ➤ Sebastian and Crawford counties issued a burn ban due to dry conditions—officials said the ban will stay in effect until enough rain reduces the fire hazard. 4029 News
