November Research Den - Alumni Night!

About this event

Join UAFS as we welcome back two alumni to share the research they're currently conducting while pursuing their PhDs! Braden Nguyen asks, "Can learning physics change how students see their world?"

Drawing on educational psychology, Braden explores transformative experience, the way students connect complex concepts to everyday life. He examines how self-efficacy and real-world value shape how students see and engage with their environments in new ways.

Nicholas Thompson asks, "Can daily portfolio transparency reveal investment skill?" When fund managers show investors what they hold every day, it opens a window into their decisions. Nicholas explores whether that window can help separate genuine skill from luck, and what it could mean for how everyday investors decide where to put their money.
